Justin Skaggs is a graphic designer and painter from St. Louis, Missouri. His desire in find a space where he could grow in both the practical and fine arts were what lead him to the Kansas City Art Institute. As a designer, he likes to maintain a healthy relationship with and away from the computer, often preferring print media over digital. Texture and pattern play vital roles in his process of interpreting any form of visual communication. He is also a firm believer that there is no such thing as a bad typeface, there are only uninformed type designers. This belief carries on into his artistic sensibility, which remains the same throughout his work: seeking to engage the viewer in revealing the beauty and understanding of what has been in front of them all along.
